Alene, thanks for the note! Nathaniel's wife was my g-grandmother and he was her first husband. I have doubts on that 1879 letter, as by then she was married for the third time, to a Hammonds. Her maiden name? Spelled at least four ways, and current descendants of that line use McFarling McFarlin was the earliest spelling, in NC.Why do you say he died in MO?
