Hi Patricia,
I saw your query concerning Samuel Cable. He was a brother to my 3rd gr. grandfather Michael Cable. Samuel was born ca. 1800 in PA., not sure where, possibly Washington Co. Samuel's father Solomon Cable and most, if not all his children migrated to Scioto Co. before 1830. They settled in Vernon Twp. I know of no Cable/Ashmore connections until 1904 when John Cable and Alice Ashmore had a daughter Sydnie Ashmore.
I also have Rawlins ancestors in Scioto Co. and one branch moved over into Lawrence Co. and I think a brother and sister Rawlins married brother and sister Ashmore's. You may want to try surroundings counties of Scioto Co. to possibly help you with your Ashmore's. I'll look in my records and see if I can help you any better.
