Hi Gary, I saw you old query concerning Solomon and his son Jacob CABLE (of Scioto Co., OH and on out west). Solomon was my 4th gr. grandfather, but I descend through a different son, Michael. But I do have a fair amount of info. on Jacob and have heard he was of Cherokee descent, but could never prove this. I am also familiar with some of the Shelton's. The late Lawrence Smith of Hutchinson, KS. and I corresponded and shared quite a lot of information. I hurried a Cable Family Hostory along and pub. it just for family members as Larence wanted to see the book in print before he passed on. Now, a distant cousin and I are now updating the Cable's and at the moment working on Jacob CABLE and not sure if it is his 3rd or 4th wife, Elizabeth (Rowland) LINDSEY we are having trouble finding her place of death. The last wife he had was also named Elizabeth (MICHAEL) MILLER. Fairly sure wife # 2 was Sarah PRINGLE. Where Jacob was in 1860 is a mystery as he cannot be found in the census anywhere. Not that important, as we pretty well have all his children from his first three wives, but very curious as to where he was hiding.
Would like to correspond with you or any other family member also connected to this Cable lineage.
