Dear Anne,
Thank you so much for your interesting message. I have tried to find information about Willard Wellman's parents and siblings, but no luck -- so far. In a census I found him, Laura and 6 children, including two children with the initials (why, oh why did the census taker do that?)
of S.W. Wellman (born about 1840) and what looked like S.R. Wellman (appears to have been a female) born about 1842. The other children were Elvira (born c.1834 in PA);
Eliza J. (born c.1836 PA); Mary (born c.1845 PA) and Merilla (born c.1847 PA). Willard said he was born in VT (about 1811). Laura Almira Fabrique was born 2 Feb. 1814 in Herkimer Co., NY. I honestly don't know if we can connect these two families, but would sure hope to. My great-grandfather (Louis O. Smith) had a son, Edwin, who settled in MN, but I don't know exactly what part. As you can see, this Fabrique message board is not exactly bustling with activity. There should be quite a number of descendants of all the branches, wherever they are! I'll be looking for puzzle pieces for your family, so if you can think of any details, c'mon back and post them here. Thanks, again! Pam Robinson
