John (Stephen) McFadden was actually born John McFadden. The Stephen was, for some reason, tacked on after the death of his son Stephen and he has been known as John Stephen ever
since, especially genealogically speaking.

I have in my notes that Andrew did have a brother Thomas, but I don't know where I found it. :<( I think it was maybe familysearch.com. I also found somewhere that Andrew and his 1st wife Mercy or Marsy Mallory had a son named Thomas. I''m still digging though.
