Lynette - I have recently discovered that my great-great grandmother was named Haar (probably Katharine)married to Gottlieb Berner. They lived in Altdorf, Wurttemberg. Their son also named Gottlieb was married in New Orleans in 1870. One of the witnesses was Fried. Haar, whom I am assuming was a relative.
If your Haars were Lutheran in New Orleans, St. Paul Lutheran Church might have some records relating to them. Norm Hellmers has the records and has been very helpful to me. His e-mail is norm-hellmers@yahoo.com
