I am searching for details about my GGGF, Christopher Ibbotson born in 1827. Christopher lived at 190 Machon Bank Road in Nether Edge, Sheffield & it is believed this was the site of Cherry Tree Farm. On the 1881 census Christopher was registered as a farmer employing 1 worker.
It was believed in our family that the first born son was historically named Henry however this is incorrect as Christopher's eldest son was Thomas R Ibbotson, next Henry A Ibbotson (my GGF) and then another christopher who was born in 1867.
We beleive that Christopher (1827) married Ann ?? but am unable to find a maiden name or a year other than a query over 1847. We have a photograph of Cherry Tree Farm with our GGGF & his wife.
It has been long thought in our family that our line originated from Hathersage and am looking for any links to the above from Hathersage prior to Christopher in 1827.
