I my line of Ibbotsons comes from Thresfield not Bradfield. However, I have been to Bradfield (since my father and his parents comes from Sheffield)and it certainly seems to be a hive of Ibbotson activity. Do you know of any connection between the two lines? Our family legend tells of two brothers coming across the border from Scotland after King James I became King of England. One of the brothers was given property in Thresfield for helping the king and we do not know where the other went. Have you heard anything like this?
