Lt. Edward Oakes is my Grandfather of 9 generations. He served at Mt. Hope and the Swamp in King Philip's War. His son became the president of Harvard College. His daughter married Col. John Flint of Concord, who served under Henchman. Col. Flint's house was designated a garrison house in case of Indian attack. It's first floor walls were double thick.
