Samuel Hazeltine (1645-1717) of Rowley, Essex Co., Mass., was an ancestor who I believe would have been mustered into the Essex Regiment during King Philip’s War. (He was the son of John Hazeltine, b. 1620, in Biddeford, Devonshire, England, and m. Deborah Cooper Dec. 26, 1670, in Haverhill, MA.) If he was, it would mark the fifth ancestor (after my Ballou, Draper, Fisk and Pierce ancestors) to have served God and country in that conflict. Any information would be mightily appreciated!
