Hi,
Mt two sons and I are currently researching the Mabon name in Scotland. We read with interest you comments on William and Margaret Mabon. We have also found a William Mabon, born in Newsteads, Scotland on the 19th February 1749. He married Margaret Brown on the 21st March 1778 in Melrose, Roxburgh, Scotland. She was born in Scotland

James Born July 21, 1787, Newsteads, Roxbourgh, Scotland
William Born March 4, 1790, Berwickshire, Scotland Died, December 13, 1867, Marshfield, PEI
Thomas Born March 11, 1792, Newsteads, Roxbourgh, Scotland
William Mabon (born March 4, 1790) married a Margaret Dickson November 23, 1809 in Chirnside, Berwick, Scotland. She died 1818 in Scotland. He then married Elizabeth Cairns April 28, 1820 in Earlston, Berwick, Scotland. She was born 1800 in Berwickshire, Scotland, and died December 16, 1891 in Marshfield, PEI.
The source of the data I have has come from an article submitted at www.islandregister.com/mabon1.html by a Robert Littlehale, from www.familysearch.org and from the local archives in Scotland.
As you can see if William and Margaret (assuming they are the same people) moved to PA in 1790, the dates don’t match. Do you have any other info regarding them or their children ?
