William Jasper O'Bannon - GA & AL

I was in Alabama last week and did some research in Escambia County. Has anybody done any work on William Jasper O'BANNON(b. ca. 1821 in GA, died in Escambia Co. date unk)? A county history claims his father came from Ireland directly to Savannah, GA - but I'm suspicious of this story and wonder whether (and where) he connects to our family. He married Sarah BARGANIER and had at least 4 kids: William Harrison O'BANNON (1844-1914) married Sallie Elizabeth WALKER; Sarah M. O'BANNON (ca. 1853- ??), married David C. MIMS; Missouri O'BANNON (ca. 1857-??), married T.C. Nix; and John Bryant (see why I'm suspicious about the Ireland to Savannah story!) O'BANNON (1858-1932), married Sallie Henderson SOWELL.

Thanks for the help.
