OVANNION OF LA.

I am searching for info on my ggrandmother MATILDA DOLL OVANNION [sic]. All I have heard is she and her brother, CHARLES, met my ggrandfather somewhere around Natchitoches, La. abt 1873. She was born abt 1861 and was supposedly a full blood cherokee whose family was from S.C. She married William Jasper Williams abt 1873 and died in Vernon Prish, La. abt. 1944. The story is her family escaped from the Trail of Tears and went into Canada. Later they came back by ship to New Orleans. Would greatly appreciate it if ANYONE can shed some light on this mystery for me. It's as if she did not exist until she married mY ggrandfather. She went by the name of TALEET or TYLEET.
