Yes, I have thought that "Shed" could be Sherwood. However, Sherwood "Obengel" was in Habersham Co., GA in the 1830 census, so the S. Obanion/Obanon in Wilkinson Co. must be someone else (Sampson maybe? - he was a son of Benjamin & Delilah). (Sherwood, Green & Sampson may have been brothers.) There was a Sherwood O'Banion who was in Texas by 1835. He enlisted in the Jasper Volunteers on Mar. 23, 1836 & received a land grant to 1 labor + 1 league of land in Shelby Co. as a family man who was in Texas by 1836. If he was married to my ggg grandmother, did they divorce & he then moved to Copiah Co., MS and married again or did he abandon her & her children & move to MS or were there two Sherwoods or is Shed someone else - that's what I'm trying to resolve. The woman I believe to be my ggg grandmother (Mary O'Banion) married John M. Cleveland in Montgomery Co., AL in 1838 & the family moved to Washington Co., TX.
