Hi Alice. These are some notes I had made a while back and don't remember if I ever sent them to you or not. It is notes I had made on Benjamin O'Banion's family page.
"Benjamin was living in Mecklenburg, NC when he entered RW service. In 1810, Benjamin sold land to Green H. O'Banion in Edgefield, SC. He made an affidavit for Rev. War pension, stating he entered service with the NC Regiment from Mecklenburg, NC.
In the 1790 Edgefield Dist., SC census for Benjamin: 1 male of 16 & upward; 2 males under 16; 1 female including head of family.
In the 1810 census Benjamin is listed as having 3 males under 10; 2 males between 10 & 16; 1 male over 45; 1 female under 10; two females between 10 & 16; two females between 16 & 26; two females between 26 & 45; one female over 45; 2 free persons and 3 slaves.
Sherwood O'Banion s/o Benjamin was bondsman for the marriage of James Wilson O'Banion and Nancy Lacey in 1834 Hinds Co., MS. If Green was Sherwood's brother, that would mean Sherwood was the Uncle of James Wilson O'Banion."
Was the Mary O'Banion that married John Cleveland born 1829? If so, she would have been ten years old when she married John in 1839. I must have something wrong.
