Sounds like you are related to what I call the "Owen County O'Banion" group, descended from John O'Bannon and Susan Martin, who married 19 Dec 1791 in Woodford County, VA just before it became Woodford County, KY in 1792. Their marriage record is on file at the court house in Versailles, KY. At that time Woodford County extended north nearly to the Ohio River, and they lived somewhere around Hesler, which is now in Owen County, KY.
The family was quite large and has many descendants which I do not have in my O'Bannon / O'Banion data base. So I suggest you contact Fred Lager of Centerville, OH, whose wife descends from that Owen County group which Fred has traced rather completely. His e-mail address is:
