I am trying to find the origins of Mary Morris who married Bryant O'Bannon, son of William O'Bannon (b. 1729) of Fauquier.

The Fauquier marriage bond of Mary (Polly) Morris, daughter of Ann Egbrn of Culpeper, and Briant (Bryant) O'Bannnon is dated 8 August 1798. Elizabeth Morris is a witness. A marriage bond for an Ann Mackey, widow, and Jacob Egburn is recorded in Fauquier 8 June 1796. Ann Egburn left a will but that will book is missing in Culpeper Co.

In the 1850 census, Mary O'Bannon, age 70, of Rappahannock County, lists her place of birth as Maryland. In the family trees of Ancestry.com I find an Ann Owens who married (1) Walter Morris about 1772, (2)Ignatius Wheeler 19 Aug 1783 in Charles County, MD, and (3) Alexander Mackie about 1792.

Walter Morris had died before 18 April 1783 when the bond on his estate was granted to the widow as administratrix. The Charles County MD Orphans Court Proceedings 1791-6 show that letters of administration on the estate of Ignatius Wheeler were granted to Ann Wheeler, widow, 7 Feb. 1791. She had married Alexander Mackie by 1791/92, and both were listed in the final account of Ignatius estate 13 Dec. 1794.

From Orphans Court Proceedings in the February term 1795, we learn that Ann Morris had at least three children by her husband Walter Morris: James Morris, who was old enough to act as guardian to his younger brother John in February 1795; Walter Morris, born 10 Oct. 1774; and John Morris, born 16 July 1780.

Clement Wheeler, who died in Charles County, MD in 1799, left to "John Wheeler, Clement Wheeler, and Ignatius Wheeler, grandchildren of the said Clement Wheeler by his son Ignatius deceased and the said John, Clement and Ignatius are Minors and cannot convey their right to the said land being one eighth part thereof..." Thus John, Clement, and Ignatius were sons of Ignatius and Ann (Owens Morris) Wheeler.

All three of these Wheeler sons appear in Culpeper County later. John owned land in Culpeper county which he purchased from Wm. Smoot, recorded 21 March 1814. He and his wife Mary sold 49 1/2 acres where John Yancey formerly lived on Thornton Road 18 July 1817 to Griffin Reed. Clement Wheeler married Sarah Sharp or Sharps in Culpeper County, VA. The marriage license was issued 4 June 1810. Ignatius Wheeler and his wife Margaret sold 104 acres of land in Culpeper County, VA, "tract where said Wheeler lives," 1 October 1817 to John Willis.

The 1790 census for Charles County MD lists an Ignatius Wheeler with 1 male 16 and up, 2 males under 16, 3 females and 13 slaves.

Can this much married Ann Owens Morris Wheeler Mackey be the same Ann who in 1796 married Jacob Egburn in Fauquier County VA and the Mother of Mary Polly Morris who married Bryant O'Bannon of Fauquier?
