My great-grandfather was born in New York ca 1849-1852. The 1880 Census said he was born in 1849 and friends have found him in other Census saying 1852. His wife was Anna Sullivan. They had 3 children: twins (girls) born in New York and son born in Canada. My great-grandfather was roadmaster for the RR. I don't know which RR he work for in Canada. From what my mother mentioned my great-great-grandfather died at sea on the way over from Ireland so I think he was an only child. Hope this helps!

Jean
