St. Charles (Illinois) Chronicle, May 22, 1903 Mrs. Julia Dooley, a pioneer of Kane County and well known in this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kittie McElligott, 1310 Waveland avenue, Chicago, Saturday, May 9, 1903. The deceased was born in Ireland February 10, 1823, whence she emigrated to Boston, Mass., in the year 1847. On April 27, 1849, she was united in marriage to Patrick O'Brien, to which union was born three sons and one daughter, William, James, John and Kittie, all of whom survive. Mrs. Dooley came to St. Charles in 1849 and moved to Geneva during the same year. After the death of her first husband she was united in holy matrimony to Michael Dooley in 1863; whence she moved with her husband to Blackberry, where she made her home until his death on November 25th, 1885. After the death of her second husband, Mrs. Dooley lived with her daughter in Chicago, residing their during the last years of her life. Mrs. Dooley's charitable and religious life made her career useful to her neighbor and herself. A true friend, a devoted wife and a loving mother are characteristics which adorned her beautiful life. Obsequies took place in Chicago and amid the tears of relatives and friends the remains were interred in the Geneva cemetery. ------- This obituary posted as a courtesy.
