Hi,
My O'Connells came from North Kerry around Listowel, Ballybunion and Abbeyfeale. They Emmigrated to Melbourne Australia and Dunedin New Zealand around about 1850. One exception being Michael Augustas O'Connell who was killed in action fighting with the Irish Brigade (69th NY) in Virginia in the American civil war.
There mames were: Maurice b. circa 1795 married Ellen MacElligott > Melbourne. James b. 1844 Priest > Melbourne. John b. 1847 married Bridget Harrinton > Melbourne. Edward b. 1840 married Letitia Gildea > Dunedin NZ.
