Hi Sara - I agree and believe we have the same George - I have been running into a brick wall for 1 - 2 years and have been mostly following assumptions using census etc - eg. my previous post mentioned a household headed by a Rheuben which turned out not to be our George's family - had no other leads until recently via FreeBMD - I have only just sent away for a birth certificate for a George Thomas Packham born 1877 in East Grinstead hoping it will be the right George - your reply has already given me all the info that the birth certificate will - it may however confirm his parents names if you are uncertain about your Thomas James and Matilda - Ivy was my Grandmother and did indeed live in NZ - she passed away in 1999 I believe - May is still alive as far as I know - my Aunt and her family also live in NZ and mentioned in a recent letter that they were helping move May out of her house - it was a pleasure receiving your reply and yes I would love to share anything I can with you - looking forward to your next post
