There is a copy of Pilgrim's Progress in the family, sent to my great grandfather Joseph Wood of Wymeswold, Leics inscribed "A gift from Aunt Packham who sailed from England to America, May 12th 1858". I have found her arriving in New York on the City of Washington. According to the passenger list she was single and aged 30. What happened to her in the US.
Any help in tracing her subsequent movements in the US would be greatly appreciated.
