I am part of a group of researchers who are trying to collect info on all the War of 1812 & the Civil War Veteran's of Monroe Co., WI
We have a number of Quackenbush Civil War veterans. Most of them seem to be sons of John Quackenbush (b. 1820 in NY; d. 1882) & Marial Elliot (b. 1817 in NY; d. 1901; buried at Shamrock Union Cemetery, Jackson Co., WI. We need complete birth/death burial info for both of them and their parents.
Ernest Quackenbush. We need his Pre-war experience
George Quackenbush. b. <au. 1939 at Allegheny, NY; m. Josephine Keach or Boice. We need her birth. death. burial info., the names of her parents & their data.
James Quackenbush. Prob. not a son of John above. He enlisted into the 9th IA Cavalry, Co. F. We need birthdate, death, marriage date, pre-war experience, Residence after the war, wife, her birth. death. burial info., the names of her parents & their data. & their children.
John Quackenbush, Jr. b. December 2,1837 & m. Mary P. Benson. We need his Pre-war experience her birth. death. burial info., the names of her parents & their data & where they lived after the war.
Smith Quackenbush. b. May 29, 1845 in New Berlin, Waukesha Co., WI. We need pre-war experience the name of his wife, her birth. death. burial info., the names of her parents & their data.
If you can help us fill in the blanks we would be grateful
We are fortunate to have funding for our book and can include photos and all letters/diaries, etc. that pertain to the War. If you have such and would like to share, please let us know.
If you have any info on these men, or if you believe that any info I sent you is incorrect, please let me know. Pictures, etc would be very welcome.
