I have done some research on the Quackenbush family in NY. They were Dutch and there are many of them in the Hudson River Valley and around Schenectady. Some counties where I found mine were Schenectady, Albany, Renssaeler. I also found a great history of the Q family in the Seattle Public Library which is:
The Quackenbush Family in America
Gail Richard Quackenbush
Henington Publishing Co.
wolfe City, Texas
I did not buy the book, but copied from it at the library.
YOu should be able to find it or order it on inter library loan. It is well written and lists the sources of the information. Frederick was a well used first name among the Quackenbush families. Good Luck, Nancy
