Robert S. Quade of MD

I was helping a researcher with her Quade line and this ended up not being her family. Since I have the data thought I might as well share it, hope it will help someone else.

I find Robert S. Quade on the 1910 census with his second wife, Lucy. Lucy must have been married to a Simms first.

1910 MD, St Marys, 7 Dist, ED 225, 222 White Nick Road,
Quade, Robert S. 52 md2, 2yrs bn MD
Lucy 46, md2, 2yrs, 14 kids/9 alive
John B. 17
William 15
Simms, Herman 19 stepson
Kathleen 18 stepdau
John E. 16 stepson
Joseph 11 stepson
Thomas 10 stepson
With William born about 1895 atleast you know Robert's first wife was still alive by then. Just depends on how long he stayed widowed, married 2nd time around 1908.

1920 Robert S. is listed twice. Once with the family & again at his place of work. Maybe he had to live on site part of the month or something?

1920 VA, Norfolk Co, Norfolk, ED 226, Institution: United States Steamship 'Midland',pg 273A
Quade, Robert S. 62 md bn MD.
he is listed with a whole sheet of men living alone. His occupation is listed as Watchman, Passenger Shift

1920 MD, Prince George's Co, Brentwood, ED 96, 341 Hobson Street
Quade, Robert S. 57 bn MD
Lucy 56
Simms, John 25
Kathline 28
Joseph 21
Margaret 12 neice
Ludie 7 neice (may be Lydia)
Robert's occ is Watchman, Norfolk Dist. Guess Lucy forgot how old Robert was here. But you can tell its the same family by the other names/ages.

1930 I did not find Robert S. but I did find Lucy Quade 66 living with her married son John R. Simms in MD, Charles Co, Harris Lot, ED 7.

Good luck
Marsha
