I just found out my G.Grandfather Charles born in Germany (possibly 1841) came to USA on a steamer into Boston to visit an aunt. When he arrived he didn't visit the aunt but took off for parts unknown. Went to Ark. and homesteaded 120 acres. Was in Hensley, Ark. for the 1900 census "one old man of german descent who can speak English but not read or write it." Anyone with info of Quadas in Boston during 1800's please reply.Charles married Mary Winchester in Ark. and raised Flora, Clara, and Dan(my G.)in Hensley, Ark. Thanks!!! e-mail: scak@juno.com
