I've just discovered this whole family tree search online, and I'll add that my great grandfather was William Wesley Tackabury, born in Pratt's Hollow, New york, Madison Co., l837 or l839. He married Helen Maria Shapley 1867 in Auburn, N.Y.

His son, Leonard Smith T (b.Detroit 1880) was my mother's father; he was born in Detroit, so perhaps he came by way of Ontario and relatives.

There is a Dempster J.Tooke in the family or as a friend, from Chittenango Falls,N.Y. I have a great-aunt's l885 autograph book in which I.N. Tackabury and N.J. Tackabury have signed their regards. They also lived then in Canastota. Could N.J. have been Nathaniel or Newton?

Others were in Auburn, etc. around Syracuse. i am in the midst of tying this more tightly, but obviously I'm not the only person doing research on this name.

I have connected through the rootsweb site, as well.

Send me any questions you might have.
Mikki Garrels
