I'm looking to connect with any veterans or spouses/loved ones of those brave Navy sailors who served in MACVSOG NAV DET in Vietnam 1965-1966, first Vietnamese junks and Patrol Fast Crafts.
These sailors and Coasties were the warriors of the dangerous rivers and coastal areas of Vietnam, and were trained in Coranado, CA.
The earliest River Rats didn't have PCF's at first, relying on Vietnamese craft until the first Patrol Craft Fasts arrived in country.
1965-1966 were the among the first of what would come to be called "The Brown Water Navy."
