Hello, I am seeking help deciphering these letters that were sent to my father by my uncle in 1966 & 1967. The full address is: CMR#2 322nd BS Crew S-22 (may be 5-22) APO 96334 San Francisco, Calif In it he mentions that he has just returned from Hong Kong, is flying no. 16 tonight and that his last mission before Hong Kong was the last flown into the DMZ, as they have 'located a SAM site in that area and don't want to lose any B-52's'. He mentions his boss, Lt/Col Newsome. My uncle was a major in the air force at this time. I am trying to find information on his service and have been unsuccessful getting service records. I also have a letter dated Jan 15, 1967 with the same return address. In that one he mentions that he just flew his 6th mission of the year, 42 total, with four more to go that month. They are limited to 10 per month, 330 hrs per quarter. He also says that they are part of the "high time and missions crew" and that 'they' are trying to set a record of 60 missions. He still 'hasn't been to Okinawa yet.' He also mentions that he was on 'the mission to the mu gia pass and will be on a special one on the 18th. I am sure you will read about it in the paper. There will be a lot of public reaction." I don't know enough about where to go to find information on the missions he is flying, and I don't know how to decipher the return address. Any help would be much appreciated. Kind regards, MJNH Notify Administrator about this message?
